A/c giving me the blues!
2000 S-Type
Hello Everyone.
My A/C is only blowing hot air. I took it to the shop and had it charged but it did not even get a little cold even during the process. I am basicly being told by the mechanic that there are a lot of different things that can be wrong and to change out each part until "WE" get it right...Really. There has to be a better way. I had my DCCV changed last year b/c the heat wasn't working, corrected the heater problem. The A/C worked last summer, after having it charged. The following has been inspected by visually only:
1.the compressor is turning 2.the freon levels are ok 3.the coolant level ok 4.the fan is turning, but not very fast(not sure if speed should change with a/c on) 5.the inside control work(clicking over from heat to air and vice versa) 6.checked both filters and they are clear 7.check the fuses indicated in my book (seem to be fine) CAN and WILL anyone here PLEASE HELP me with this issue. DON'T WANNA BE ROBBED BY THE MECHANICS!!!!
THANKS IN ADVANCE

Your climate control module may be switching on but that doesnt mean it is working right. Do check again your heater valves (DCCV) and the CCM. No need to start your engine to do this initial test. If you can locate and access the DCCV so you can unplug the plug connector. After unplugging, place the connector plug over the valve connector ang slightly pushing it back until you hear and feel there is movement and clicking happening on the DCCV. This is assuming your ACCM is good. If this is so, your DCCV is good as well as your ACCM. If no clicking or you feel there is no apparent movement inside the solenoid valve then your DCCV, aka heater valve is either stucked or coil opened. If valve is stucked open for some reasons the hot collant flows to the heater core and cause hot air blowing out the vents either driver or passenger side or both. Other cause to this if your ACCM is not switching pins 1 and 3 on the valve to ground then your ACCM is likely damaged even if the display and adjustments control looks working. I had this problem recently which I why I'm familiar with this symptoms. Pls check the website site below for detailed procedure for checking your ACCM and heater valve. jaguarclimatecontrol.com/diagnose
