Default C1267

03 S type has a code C1267. I replaced a steering angle sensor for a code C1277, that code is now gone. Still have C1267 "disturbance detection failure" code. One place I looked says it needs recalibration, another says module failure. Anyone had this or know of it?

They apparently need calibrating using a dealer-type tool.

I know that the steering angle sensor needs cal from dealer, but I thought that was indicated by a flashing DSC light. JTIS says C1267 indicates an internal failure of the module. Maybe I have 2 problems? Car had C1277 about 3 weeks ago, customer declined work, came back this week with C1267 and C1277. Steering angle sensor cleared C1277. I hate to tell customer that he also needs a module, but I'm thinking that's probably the case.

replaced the module 2 weeks ago, all is well, no indication of calibration needed.

How much did the replacement module cost?

got it from a wrecking yard for $150.00. I took a gamble that it was good and would solve the problem
