Default can someone help me remove this sensor

I have to replace the electronic fuel temp sensor. I have gotten to the sensor but can't figure out how to get it off. Jagv8, joycesjag and gus have helped a lot in getting to this point. I have the sensor in hand and released the pressur ein the fuel rail. But I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it off. It spins freely so I don't believe it is stuck and it doesn't unthread. It has a weird spring in the inside of the sensor. I've attached pictures. Please help, I really don't want to guess and damage the fuel rail.

After digging more into the jtis I have found that this is called a spring lock coupling and it requires a special tool to take off and put on. I hope I didn't damage anything

Ok Sabastian, I just removed the intake tube from Joyces vehicle.

I happen to have the cheap-ola kit pictured above, the red clip remover above fits the chrome tube like a glove but, the outer diameter hits the head, so it will need to be trimmed.

Or if it were my vehicle (and I didn't have the above) I would use a pair of pliers and start prying the black spring cover (on the EFT sensor) away until I could get the spring removed. The spring inside the EFT Sensor is what holds the sensor onto the chrome shaft.

Hope this helps.

Went to autozone and picked up the spring loaded removal tool and it didn't fit as you found on the tool you found. Gonna go get the one you pictured and trim it back. If that doesn't work then pliers it is. Just not sure if you need it to install the new sensor

No you will not need any tools for putting new one on, it just slips into place and the spring wil hold it.

Good news is that the red tool worked like a charm. Just trimmed down the edge a little bit. Got it back on and and everything put back together in 5 mins. Bad news is I cleared the check engine light and after a couple If restarts the light came back again with the same code. P0182. Now I'm stuck.
