Car Accelerates On It's Own
I pulled into a parking space put my foot on the brake to slowly park. Then out of the blue the car accelerates (my foot NOT ON THE GAS) couldn't stop it fast enough and I wind up hitting the car in front of me. Tried putting it into reverse (foot still not on gas) and it's moving fast backwards. Got it into neutral and shut off the car.
Very scary like the car was possessed. Mechanic says it maybe a vacuum issue or a throttle problem. Anyone else have this happen and how did it get fixed?

99.99% it's an air (to vacuum) leak. Trivial to check (fuel trims).
That's like you have your foot on the throttle pedal. Or could be the pedal if you have something wedging it down a bit.
It's not likely the throttle as it's drive-by-wire with redundant sensors that throw codes.

That doesn't add up. There is no known fault mode that would cause the throttle to open on it's own vs. going into restricted performance mode with all sorts of codes left behind.
I suspect your dealer threw some parts at it to make you go away.
