My car was running hot lastnight, and the restricted light came on. The next morning I put more antifreeze in it, and tried to drive down the street to see what was going on, from 0-30 it runs very hard like it's going to cut off, and the restricted light comes back on, but then after that it runs fine, can someone tell what is going on please....

 

Read codes, then check fuel trims. Try not to drive it till you understand what's wrong. Maybe test for head gasket failure as overheating is dire with alloy heads.

 

An engine running poorly after an overheat and loss of coolant usually points to severe and permanent engine damage. Monitor coolant level for starts.
