It really depends on your state's emissions laws. You could probably get by with the aftermarket cat without a problem.

The prior owner was the one who really broke the law. In any state, federal law says it's illegal to remove or disable an emissions device.

wade, I would just go to your local muffler shop and ask them about there universal high flow cats(shops here in vegas carry magnaflow) they should be from $80 to 120$ so its cheaper than oem or the dec cat.and im pretty sure there 49 state legal you should be okay
