Default CATS question

My '05 S-type R has the CATS suspension system. I was wondering if this system operates like the systems that incorporate fine iron particals in the damper or shock fluid to control damping rate by using an electrical charge to change the viscosity of the fluid. If not, how are the adjustments made? Also are these dampers/shocks Bilsteins and if so, did Jaguar develop the system with Bilstein or was it a Bilstein project?
