Ha! My feeling exactly! I don't want to have to keep digging into this thing. Replace pump, and it WILL work fine!
However, to make up for the year or so of trouble free motoring, the car decided make two of the four reverse sensors fail. That will be the next job. Good times.
When I get the pump replaced I'll make sure to update everyone on the result.

Your pump can be rebuilt what I found is that the brushes go bad over time. Take the motor apart and see if the brushes are the problem if they are you can get brushes that will work at Radio Shack. The brushes they have will need to be modified for them to fit this motor and you can do that by simply sanding them down to fit that pump.

I hadn't thought of rebuilding it. That could work, but I got another new pump for about $75, and I can't really afford the down time of the car to try and take the pump apart, see if the brushes are bad and try replacing them, re-install and find out its still bad. And for $75, might as well just replace the whole thing!

I still have my spare AUX pump too. Can you post a part number for the brushes? I might rebuild mine to help someone out in the future?

No # for them the brushes are not an exact fit you will need to sand them to fit. You will need to verify that they are the problem then find a close fit set of brushes and modify them with sandpaper to fit.

Sounds stuck closed. That or no coolant flow (blocked matrix) - but the DCCV fail is far more likely.

I hope you disconnected the CCM before doing that btw!

Alright, update so far is I got my new pump on Friday. Planned on putting it in on Sat. but the wife had a tire blow out on her on the way to work on Friday, so spent the weekend sorting that out as well as diagnosing the two bad back-up sensors. I will get to this soon and let everyone know if it fixes the problem. Hopefully it will be this week or weekend. It seems as soon as I gave the car to my wife to use, it started falling apart!

Alright! Replaced the aux pump this afternoon, not that hard actually! Put everything back where it should go and bled the system. First thing I noticed was that when on full heat it was a lot hotter that before. Drove for a while, pulled over and let it idle and finally, heat! So, everything is working just like it should. So, if anyone out there notices that they aren't getting heat at idle but everything else is working, looks like a new aux pump will solve it!

Congratulations, nice and toasty for summer.
Do you need heat in the summer in Manitoba?

Ha! Well, there was that year we had a snow storm in June, and that summer that never got above about 12C, but usually we don't! Actually, last year was the hottest summer on record, and this winter was almost the warmest ever. It's pretty much like being in Hawaii!
