My 2005 S-Type 4.2L non-turbo is setting a P0443 code for EVAP emission control system purge control valve. I also get various cylinder misfire codes. the vehicle has 70K mile and runs well.
Any experienced suggestions would be appreciated.
Below is a picture of a 3.0 V6, but the purge control canister is in the same location as the V8s. Look to the mid to upper right in the picture outlined in Red.
There have been many cases where the casing cracks causing the code you posted. Look/listen closely with hood open engine running, you might see/hear the problem.
