All I did was use the stock headlights for the HIDs and I have small blue bulbs in the corner of the headlights. Looks good at night. Like I said the Jap setup is very nice and works very well. The used 30% tint on all windows with a miror finish. The photos I sent you, I didnt have the lower grill on yet. Now it on.

How long ago did you send the photos? I didn't see them when I checked my mail the other day. Sometimes my account will go haywire and I don't get them right away. I'll double check for them again tonight.

I'm trying to understand here, so help me out. Can I buy xenon headlamps fo a 2000 s-type, put them on a car that came with regular halogen lights. then install a conversion kit? I kind of didn't want to install the conversion kit because it throws light all over the place. With the xenon headlamps there is the cutoff. Is this a possibility? Has anyone here done this???

Its not quite as simple because of the wiring issues. So far noone I know of has added in the autoadjusting headlights and had them functioning in their S Type if it didn't come factory. I'm hoping to be the first.

So Mep, being that the auto adjusting feature is not working are your beams pointing in the right direction? How much did this project cost you? I see some hid headlamps on ebay. Would it be smart to purchace and try to do this myself?

Yes, my beams are aimed correctly. The auto leveling feature does not adjust the projectors - they are manually adjusted with 2 plastic adjusting screws on each (allen key). The auto levelers level them out if you have load in the rear of the car....that sort of thing. I purchased my lamps from ebay. The problem with that is you really need to watch. There seems to be a fair amount of broken adjusters on the. They are really not easy to fix. You would have to separate the lens from the housing and repair it from the inside out. But, however, there is no guarantee that they will not break again. The plastic that is used is a tough plastic, but gets brittle as time goes by. I can't really recommend any one seller, just be vigilant about whom you buy from. I paid about $600+ for mine. As far as doing it yourself, that depends on how mechanically incline and resourceful you are. For a lot more info on HID and all go to hidplanet on the web.

Interesting this thread got this much activity! At the time the ebay deal I MISSED had the setup really cheap. I can't seem to find it now sub-$600 which is steering me towards an aftermarket kit. The slight benefits to the OEM is the projectors, which perform well. They could also potentially increase resale value, although if a dealer ever did a "vin explode" that pulls options out of the vin, the dealermight be scratching their head as to why the vin isn't showing HIDs...

If I decide not to go for fako blue/white tinted bulbs, I may go aftermarket HIDs...

This whole thread has info thats costs alot more money then needed. You can put in hid projectors assemblies in to replace the halogen assemblies. Ive done several and working on getting another stype projector light assembly to sell or do another retrofit. What you need to know is the halogen light is turned on by a power wire and the hid's are turned on by a negative or ground trigger(theyre always hot with key on). You need to use the power wire from the car to trgger a relay to provide a ground to the light to turn it on...and no i will not tell you a step by step unless you want to pay me. Im beggining to get to many requests fo info to keep up with and have alot going on in my personal life right now, and bills have gone through the roof..so if youre mechanically inclined and electricaly, you should be able to figure it out yourself with this little bit of info i just provided
