Question Coolant expansion tank cap

Hi my expansion tank cap gives before tightening. Can anyone tell me if this is correct, or is it faulty. Car is 2004 V6 petrol automatic

May be designed to try to stop over-tightening.

If it gives too soon you will see coolant escape after a good run after shutoff. Or even squeeze a hose to verify pressure. If it is faulty then replace. I had the same problem and now use a stant. Fomoco is oem
