Default Coolant Hose Tip: 3.0L

One of the following 2 hoses is a short, 6"-8" section that Jag only sells as part of an assembly, clamped to a curved metal part:
XR831675
XR819863
for something north of $100. There is one currently on eBay (claims new!) for $90 - but that's not the money-saving tip.

The hose itself has a Ford Engineering p/n XW4E-8A507-DA which crosses to Motorcraft KM4718. This is quite helpful as they are available from Amazon/Rock for $18-$25 or your friendly Ford Dealer for $44 (fits Lincoln LS 3.0L) but all the websites will say it doesn't fit the Jag (cuz the Jag one is supposed to have a huge metal casting attached, natch)

But Wait!!! There's more! Rock has the Dayco 70705 hose on wholesaler closeout for $2 and change or normal stock for $8 something. ($17 on most other websites from what I could find) Any of those prices are a bargain when you realize you can make 2 KM4718's from it!!! (well, ok, you only need one per car....but I have 2 S-type 3.0's, hence my excitement)

It's the straight one coming out of the center of the engine to the plastic manifold section of the upper rad hose assy that is infamous for it's lack of reliability....

So about a half-hour ago, I had this thread constructed with most pics uploaded and everything..when I got "Internet Exploder has stopped working" which destroyed it all. It's late. I'll pop back in within the next few days and post the pic's and tidy this up. Just wanted to let everyone know you don't need to plunk down $100+ for a two-dollar hose (H/T to Motorcarman!!!)

I think this says it all about the way that Jaguar treat their customers, compared to Ford/Lincoln. I have bought a number of Ford/Lincoln badged parts that are SOOOOOOO much cheaper than the identical "Ford Part In A Different Box" Jaguar parts

I own a Lincoln also and have found several parts that are significantly more expensive than the identical part on my Jag.
