what oil should l put in my 2000/2001 v6 sport 10/40 semi snyth ?

 

Choose from those in the owner's handbook for your car. Free download if you haven't got it.

Oil is one of those topics you do not want opinions on (search the net if you do!!) so much as facts - thus the handbook.

 

Any oil that meets or exceeds API SJ/EC and ACEA A1-98 or A3-98 with a recommended viscosity grade of 5W-30 should be fine. Jaguar say that 0W-30, 0W-40 or 5W-40 is also OK, but for the UK, I would stick to the recommended grade.

Jaguar later switched to HTHS oils which are A5, IIRC. The original cars don't need this.
