Hi, the local garage has replaced water pump and radiator in last 12 months and radiator cap last week, still overheating and losing coolant so they tell me the head gasket is on its way out. What sort of cost am I looking at - it's an 04 plate

It's a good idea to include vehicle details such as MY, engine type and size and number of kilometres/miles on the vehicle.

What conditions are causing the overheating condition?

What work has been recently done to the engine?

Are the radiator fans coming on and at what temperature?

Where is the system losing coolant?

 

First of all get it checked by using this method. There can be many reasons for the loss of coolant water not just a blown head gasket. To give a clue on how difficult it is to blow one on this engine. I had a the upper pipe fail on a mountain road and I could not safely stop for a mile. I lost over half the water but the head baskets were perfectly ok.
