Hi guys, I have a problem for my S-Type 2700D year 2007. As you know, when you turn off the engine and open the driver's door, you lower the seat and raise the steering wheel to make it easier for the driver to get out. Well, during this phase I heard a metal crack and the seat lowered and no longer lifts. I disassembled the seat, all 5 engines are fine, but I didn't see metal rails useful for raising the seat. Does anyone have the schematic/drawing of the components?
Your translation program translated 1 word incorrectly: When you wrote about the 5 engines, you mean the 5 seat-adjuster-motors (an electrical motor is a motor, not an engine).
My guess is that the adjuster motors of the S-Type are similar (if not identical) to the X-Type adjuster motors. I wrote a DIY guide about those, maybe that helps you: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...x-type-268744/
I hate to sound like a broken record but you really need to get the service manual (FSM) for your car? I would attach it but at 65+ MB the forum chokes on that file size!
Attached are several pages from that document about troubleshooting the power seats.
Here is the lower seat assembly from the FSM.
Note there are two height adjustment motors. Are both of them NOT working?
Note they refer you to using SDD to check for error codes?
Do you know what SDD is?
Can you get the car scanned with a working SDD system?
Now a guess? Since you heard a loud crack and can't find any electrical problems that points to a mechanical failure somewhere is the seat adjustment mechanism?
Maybe do more inspection?
Does any other function still work like back and forth?
