Cut Wire Behind Intake – Temp Sensor Connector Help (Jaguar S-Type V6 2003)
Good night everyone,
I found a cut wire behind the intake on my 2003 Jaguar S-Type V6. I believe it goes to one of the temperature sensors (possibly IAT or ECT), but I’m not 100% sure which one. The sensor itself is still in place — it’s just the wire/connector that’s damaged.
What’s throwing me off is the connector grooves — mine are not symmetrical, but most of the replacement connectors I see on Amazon and RockAuto are symmetrical, so I’m not sure if those will even fit.
Should I just try to fix the wire myself with a soldering iron and shrink tubing, or is there a way to find the exact pigtail? I haven’t had much luck finding the right one online.
If anyone has the correct pigtail part number or a source, I’d really appreciate it. I can post pics if that helps.
Thanks!

If you don't find somewhere the exact same connector somewhere, it will not fit.
I do not know, where to find it.
I can't see in your pictures, where the wire is damaged, but if you can fix it somehow (soldering, even adding a bit of wire, and using shrink tube), then do this.
If it is more complicated, have a look at my link below, where I "delete:" he OE connector and make the connection permanent, and then I am adding a new inline connection right in front of it...:

Take a look through this Motorcraft catalog. It is sorted by number of contacts and has good pictures:

Where exactly is the wire broken? Is it right next to the connector? If you can’t find an exact match, you might be able to swap out the guts from a replacement pigtail that is close. You can usually release the contact (and attached wire) by depressing a small tab in the connector. Then you can keep the existing connector body.

Looks like throttle position sensor? Not entirely sure but the pig tail looks like it’s where the tps would be but that sensor could be pressure sensor? I have the 01 v6 so it's bit different. I’m assuming the green wire is where it’s been re-routed. The question is if you change the pig tail can you get the wires backwards or is it like the coolant temp sensor and can’t be wired incorrectly.
