Default cylinder 6 misfire?

im stumped again. i have a 2001 s type, i have recently changed the spark plugs valve cover gaskets and spark tube seats and i still have a recurring cylinder 6 misfire code. i dont know the best place to look next. i have a code reader i could pull ffs if i knew what might be the important number to look at. any ideas?

Mst,

You should post this in the "S Type" Section here. Maybe one of the mods will move it for you.

As far as the misfire, post up all codes pulled. Did you replace the #6 coil??

Also help us to help you, put your year, engine size in your signature, model.

Just checking but which one do you think #6 is?

On your era car, it's bank 2 aka left, #2:
fan
5 1
6 2
7 3
8 4

Later cars are different.

Also worth checking #5 and #7 as the PCM isn't perfect.

Swap the coils around. It's not common but there have been reports of brand new coils misfiring. Also are you running any goofy plugs like split fire ?? Do not use them. Use the factory recommended plugs. You will gain nothing with those snake oil fancy plugs.
Recheck that number 6 is still dry too.

running champion iridium plugs . I did the whole drivers side coil packs and spark plugs when i changed the spark tube seals three other cylinders also read error codes after spark tubes. all cleared up with the exeption of six, which was the one that read an error code before spark tube seats finally failed. i had thought it was related but six refuses to work right.

Are those the right plugs?

If they are, back to basics. Compression. Cats. Any air leaks (check fuel trims). Wiring. PCM itself - getting wet? Etc.

Worth checking the freeze frame data, too.
