dash drawer problem
My daughter crashed my 2003 xjr r1 about a month ago, totalling the car. It did its job, and she walked away...65 mph into a bridge abuttment after a 360 degree spin in rush hour Phoenix traffic. I replaced it with an S-type, 2001 3.0, seafrost, 30K miles.
I am on my sixth Jaguar, and chose this car because they are so easy to drive, parts are available, and they are reasonably reliable. I have an absolutely identical car, but in red. I still have one firebreathing xjr, but must say that as I get older, I appreciate the increased height of the seats when I get in and out, and appreciate fewer trips to the gas station and tire store.
The only problem with this new car is that the dash drawer won't stay put. I have temporarily solved the problem with some velcro tape on the back holding it in, but thought somebody here might have solved this problem before.....

The part is the cassette cubby and the latch sometimes fails. It is a kind-of 'flip-flop' lever and if it is still in the box somewhere, it can be reinstalled if it is not broken.
The entire radio/climate control assy must be removed for repair.
If a good used one is available it can be used as the face plate can be swapped if it is a different color.
