I have just discovered that the drivers side door check strap bracket is broken on my 2002 S-Type Sport. Has anyone replaced one of these? I can see the two torx screws that will detach the bracket from the "A post" but I am not sure what will be required to detach the strap from the door. I would appreciate any comments.

Reaching into our '05 door, where the bracket goes into the door, I feel two nuts (ahemmm really) in there that holds the anchor point for that end.

 

A deep well 10mm will work the best. A short well 10mm is tight.

 

Are the front door stays handed and are the rear a different shape?
Also noted someone has a set for a 2.7 S-type are they compatible with my 3.0 model?
