Door panel removal
I've looked at the service manual, very sparse but it shows the screws to be removed and the door opener etc. But when I try to use a plastic flat to get behind the panel and lever the retainers out the panel just does not move hardly at all?
I'm locating the posts with a thin steel putty knife so I can detect them but when I insert the other tool and lever it it just doesn't seem to pull away like on all the other cars I've had. I could even see what I think is the post on the lower left corner completely out but the panel still won't budge.
I really don't want to break the door panel getting it off but ... the amount of force required makes it seem like that's where I'm headed.
Is there some trick not mentioned in the service manual. I did get the two screws in the door pull pocket under the rubber mat removed.
It feels like I'm missing something bit at every retainer location.

Bob, I always break atleast one white plastic pin. AIR they are a tighter fit than say a US manufacturer. I believe in the How To, I have rear lock actuator diy/wpics. I have a picture and part number in it.
I think I'm going to just not try. This feels like a huge mess. As I said before this panel isn't removing like any other car I've had. It really does feel like that thin blow molded plastic panel is going to split. This is not the time for a new Jaguar adventure. I cannot risk losing a pin as I have to travel tomorrow.
I need to reinsert the woodgrain panel which came out just fine but will not go back in. Apparently it's a different setup than the ones on the dash and must be secured from the rear with the panel off? Some doubled sided tape will have to suffice for now. Not sure even that will work?
Thanks for the admonition about the pin.
I saw your diy, gawd I hope to not have to go there ...

The dog in post #2 wasn't the one I was thinking of. I found the pin picture in a different diy I did many many moons ago.
There is however a diy by former member "spitfire" that my be more useful to you.
