it was to connect a rear camera, but finally I went under the carpet to reach the 12v socket in the central armrest

Sorry I am a bit late with this.....
There is a 12v + and - connector in the trunk/boot. It is intended for the Aux Power Connector that was an option that could be dealer fitted.
Here is the drawing of the location of this connector taken from pge 15 of the official jaguar Aux power socket fitting instructions:

Please note that the cabe listed A or B (depending on what side you want the socket and therefore what length of cable was needed), both have a 7.5a fuse in the cable.
