While cleaning out the trunk/boot on my 2005 S-Type, I came across this lamp assembly. I'm not missing any, that I know of, and not sure where this would have been in the car (Trunk? Engine? Cabin?) if anyone has any idea, please let me know. Thanks.

This is what I found in the boot.

In the boot - passenger side. You'll see the cut out for it in the liner.

Wow! Thank you! You were right. I found the opening and reached in and found the connector, plugged it in and it works! It was on the driver's side though, not the passenger. Never noticed the hole in the liner before and have no idea how it even came unplugged and dropped to the underneath of the spare tire. If I hadn't removed it to clean some water out of the boot, I never would have found it. Thanks again. Damn, I learn good stuff here!

Yes, your right. Driver's side. That's what happens when you respond to posts after a few drinks...lol.

Glad we were able to help.

Inquiring minds want to know?

How did it fall out and unplug itself? Maybe someone was chasing a battery discharge issue and thought it was staying on?

If your trunk light switch is in good nick..both lights should go out as soon as you press it.
