Amazon.com: ElmScan 5 Compact USB OBD-II Scan Tool & OBDWiz Engine Diagnostic Software (423001): Automotive
This one it just uses the USB so it will work. Some guys get a USB extension so they can have the laptop outside of the car but that is just personal preference. My sig has a database of people with scan tools so when you get it let us know and if you would be willing to help out other members I can add you to it. It will come with OBDWiz and there are a few others you can get. OBDWiz will clear and get codes and will freeze frame and all that good stuff.

FYI if you have an android phone, the Torque app works great.

Search for ELM and you will find a thread listing models that have worked for others. I bought a $21 version off Ebay and it didn't work. Just bought the OBDCOM model off their website and it works great on my S Type and other cars.

That one should work for both your Jag and Mazda. I use mine on my wifes Pontiac all the time and it works the same as it does on my STR. Watch the prices on that link also as they are always changing I've seen it go as cheap as it is now up to 50 so you have to get it at the right time. Its actually cheaper then when I got mine it was 39.95 when I got mine. I could of saved $1 if I had only waited.

I didnt see a single mention of that tool on here. anyone know if it works? or is it crap? just curious. heres a link to it. Innovate Motorsports OT-2 - Transform your iPhone or iPod into a wireless gauge, data logger, dyno, efficiency meter and OBDII scan tool.

Wow that's Expensive!!

Of course anything with the iphone or any smartphone is going to be limited (screen too small and not ideal for recording data). Up to you if you're happy with the limitations.
