engine cut out after warm start
2003 Jag s type 4.2. NO check engine light on the dash!
Jag starts and runs great from a cold start. when the engine reaches normal temperature the car still runs great. When I shut down the engine and then immediately try to restart it gasps and stalls. When the engine cools down it starts up and runs great. I'm thinking crank position sensor, fuel regulator, or thermostat. Any suggestions?

If it stalls it will have a code but such an event is not an emissions one that would put the MIL on (as mandated by law).
You'd be likely to have at least a P1582 but an ordinary OBD tool tends not to report what it describes, so you're probably chasing the right things except ECT not thermostat.
An OBD tool like cheap elm327 can read ECT or look up ETM.
