Unhappy Engine Knocking Sound? 2001 Jaguar S-Type

Hey, gents!
So, I've recently purchased a 2001 Jaguar S-Type. Low miles, 49,xxx, all original. Car was in MINT condition. All up to date on all services, no oil leaks, nothing. A month later I got an engine knock...
It first happened on start up, just a 2-3 second trr trr tr and then it faded. I cant really hear the knocking when I was driving, its most likely there just not loud enough. If you give it gas in park, the noise comes back. My first though was the timing chain. I looked it up and learned that its a problem in these cars. So I got the full timing chain replacement kit and went to work. The engine rattling sound did not go away. No check engine light, not a single clue of the problem. Im kind of bummed about it, I mean such low miles on the car. On the inside, engine looks good, well at least looking at it without the front engine cover. Has anyone ever experienced this? We repair mostly diesel semi engines, never faced a 4.0 v8.
Thank for all the info in advance.
