Default Trying to sell my 2004 S-Type. Please help me fix these error codes.

I got a new car and my Jaguar had been sitting around for a couple months. I turned it on and the check engine light and the ABS lights were both on. When I checked the error messages and got the following:

C1175 (twice?)
P1111
P1647

I need to figure out if I can get this fixed up to sell it or if I should just sell it for parts.

Did you charge the battery before starting the car , as these codes and lights can be triggered by starting with a low or faulty battery ,
I'd start with charging the battery and having it load tested .
Clear the codes and see if thay re appear .
Otherwise you may need an ABS wheel speed sensor
and an o2 sensor .
P.s p1111 is a good code to have it just means the monitors have completed there checks and are all ok so ignore that one !

+1

In case you have smog/emissions checks don't clear the codes just swap the (front left) O2 sensor and after 3 warm ups the P1647 should clear.

Code C1175 points to a faulty left rear wheel speed sensor. I had to replace mine back in February. The OEM Jaguar ones retail for about $212 which is a ridiculous price for what they are (as you will quickly see when you remove yours). I ordered a generic one from SNG Barratt Group for about $56 plus shipping. Be sure to ask for your jaguarforums.com member discount of 10%....

As Datsports says, don't do anything else in the way of troubleshooting until you've fully charged your battery.

You guys might be talking a bit over my head. I don't know how to do something as simple as charge my battery. As far as I know, having the car running is how that happens.

Click the link at the bottom of my signature. It will take you to lots of good info about the importance of having a fully charged battery and keeping it that way.

+1 on the battery...

My Jag can sit for weeks unused and I used to marvel at the random codes and 'Restricted Performance' warning I'd get. It now lives permanently on a CTek battery charger / conditioner and when I need to drive it, well it purrs like the big black cat it should be. ;-)
