Hey

My car broke down on me this weekend . about three week ago i've been hear a knocking noise comin got the low half of my engine. I check an made sure the the car has oil in it ( which it did). Yet i could not not figure where the sound was coming from. and you would only hear the sound when the car is in stand still ide. when the car in motion the sound goes away. i hook up my obt II to the car and the car came out clean with no error code. Now this Saturday i was heading to a block party and i just got off th highway. and i felt the the tranny slip a gear but pick right up afterward pay no mind and kept driving. when i got to the party. i found parking stop the car turn off the engine . step out the car for about a min. Got back in the car tried to start the car and it would start. The power was on and you would hear the starter turning but the engine did not turn over. I got my car towed to my MC. and got the car lifted on jack. we look under the car and when you tried to start the car would see the fly wheel turn but in front of where the pully and crankshaft belt is located NOTING was turning. any idea anyone ?

This guy is a mechanic and he can't figure it out? I would use a different one. That's a major problem that should be easy to troubleshoot.

Sure sounds like it. I have seen a sheared harmonic damper key before too.
