I purchased a 2003 S type V8 last Sept. and bout an extended warranty from Easycare (http://www.easycare.com/). As I understand it, this company is owned by Ford so the warranty is similar to the one you get at the Jaguar dealer. That may or may not be true. So far I have not had to use the warranty so I can't vouch for its real life coverage.

 

Is there a good extended warranty for S-type 3.0? If so where is a good place to purchase it?

 

See post #2, I had that with my former Jag, needed to use it only once with the dealer and it was a breeze. They took care of everything.

 

I bought my 2003 with 63000 miles Warranty was to 100K miles or 12 months 4200.00.

I worked at the dealership. They said it was highest quote ever. In 18 months I would have spent 6500 in repairs had I taken to dealer. I laughed when I first heard it, but now????

 

Not sure if I understand your post what was 4200 was that the cost of repairs or the cost of a warranty. What would you have spent 6500 on a new engine and gearbox. Must be my age as I just do not understand you post.

 

4200 was the cost of the warranty, I passed. I would have spent 6500 for all of the repairs that I have personally done, If I had taken it to dealer.

I have :
replaced both rear lower and upper control arms
Both Front Upper control arms
Both Headlights
window regulator
Parking Brake actuator
Coil Pack

All in 1.5 years. Love the car now

 

But is there a warranty that is currently being sold that is good. I have had a couple quotes. I have appx. 93000 miles on my 2003 s-type. I have been quotedr $3200-4700, for 5 years and 50'000 and 4 years and 48'000 miles respectfully. The car dealer that i purchased from said they would offer ine but i am still trying ro gey info from them. oF COARSE IM ALSO TRYING TO GET THE CROME FRONT GRILL THE SAID THEY HAD ORDERED TWO WEEKS AGO. fUNNY HOW THINGS CHANGE ONCE THE MONEY IS PAID....

 

I forgot to mention that both companies had discounts offerred in thier ads, but Florida law does not allow promotional discounts? Whats up with that?

 

hi guys, i officially joined the club this week by picking up my first 05 str. i purchased an aftermarket warranty thru direct buy warranty for 1800 buck. it is their platinum elite. which covers everything including supercharger, AC, radiator, brakes.... they said i can bring it to any repair shop including the jag dealer. no deductible. it sounds like a good deal, but then i looked at the reviews online for them and the list was a mile long. does anyone here have any experience direct buy warranty.
