Let me start by saying that I have been working a lot on my S-Type for the past few months and I will have a major thread in the next few weeks with all the details and procedures done. I think it will please a lot of you. The help I got in this forum has been invaluable, so thank you all!
For now, I'm dealing with minor things and since I'm a perfectionist I'm going after all the details. This time, I am looking into cleaning my intake manifold but I found something I never heard of before, never seen before and couldn't find details even after an extensive search on Google.
There is a sort of fabric part/cover inside the intake manifold. What the hell is this thing? If I touch it, the part moves. I'm flabbergasted! (It's the part on top of the picture),
Any help would be appreciated since I don't wish to clean something that looks very fragile without knowing what it is first.

Couple more pictures at different angles might help us kind of get an idea of what it is but it shouldn’t be any fabric inside your intake manifold yank that **** out

Haha thanks for the recommendation Aarcuda but it does seem to be an actual part of the manifold itself. Can it be some sort of dampening/turbulence related material?
That's the best picture I can get with my phone to be honest. Bear in mind this is the plastic manifold of the 4.0 V8.
PS: The picture was taken from the opening that connects to the throttle body.
EDIT: It seems I found the answer. HERE."SOUND DEADNER TO REDUCE INTAKE NOISE".

I had a customer S-Type V8 intake manifold with an end that came off. I saw that same material on the inside of the manifold.
Bought a salvage part and replaced the damaged intake. Returned the car to the customer.
Did not really care why it was there and it seemed like an engineer wanted it there.
