Yeah, I was running the stock Conti Sports and let the transmission shift itself. These cars are rally held back by the ECM and tranmission logic. If I could get the tranny to shift quicker (lost mph at each shift), and if the ECM would allow the engine to rev a little higher, 13 flats or even high 12's (at around 107 or 108) would not be out of the question. Of course these times would be on a good air day. As heat drops times in my car around 2 -3 tenths. (As a side note, the transmission needs to shift into fourthabout 100 or so feet before the end of the 1320. That shift scrubs mph also. On a couple of runs I tried to leave it in third gear and manually shift to fourth in an attempt to facilitate a quicker shift . It smacked the rev limiter a few times and still ran higher mph than when I allowed it to shift on its own. These cars need a good sport tuning.)

Yea i also definently want to get some more info. So far the fastest times I've seen are11.8 12.3 on str registryand 12.8. I'm gonna be getting a str after winter and I plan on porting the sc, 3.5 pulley, intake, CB exhaust with highflow cats, and maybe later on, some tuning. I know these cars put down about 330whp stock, so with all of those mods I should be at about 380before the tuning. That should easily put the car into the mid 12 range with a good 60ft. The str is a big step for me I've only hadawd dsm's since i was 16(12sec 1g 11sec 2g)and i want something fast but nice enoughto apeal to older Hotter girls(now 22). Pluscts-v's m3's s4's and evo's are everywere and I want something that no one has.

 

Ok so I saw the fastest in 1/4....I just got my StR yesterday. What will these cars top out at? How fast has everyone got their S type up to?

 

I have been up to 156mph in mine about 3 weeks ago, but with a chip to remove the limiter 170mph is doable...

 

I have hit 161 mph on my Cheetah GPS mirror. It is more accurate than the car speedo.

 

Not sure if the gps has the speed in my mine. Just got it so didn't look that hard. I might not have it all set up right yet either. Like two screens one with the next turn and the other side is the big picture.

 

It is possible to access the car's GPS for speed measurement. I'll see if I can dig it up somewhere. I've done it and, of course, it loses its novelty factor after about 5 minutes but it is kinda cool.

 

well with it being cold and all I didn't want to push the new car today but I did get it up to 140 and then I let off of it. I am more and more impressed with this car each time I drive it. 3 days now and im having a blast with it.

Now, I definitely don't want to be a joy-kill, but be careful with it.. at high speeds the STR tends to be a bit floaty, the aerodynamics are not that great... Get acquainted with its strengths and weaknesses for a while before you start the rally driving.. I know I may come across as a bit hypocritical, because I've topped it out, but I would hate to see anything bad happen to that beautiful car, lol oh or to you as well..

 

158 mph using a Garmin GPS. I was in a pretty bad (bumpy)lane, and had to slow down. I believe she definately had 160+ in her. And I have no ECU tuning to take out the speed govenor.
