Front Brakes S type

Front Brakes S type
As someone who likes to do things on the cheap, I decided to do my front brakes after work today on my 2003 3.0 Stype. Piece of Cake. Purchased made in the USA Akebono ceramic pads. Used 12 mm socket to remove the calipers. After removing calipers, used a standard made in USA pad spreader and original pad to push the pistons in. Installed pads on bracket and then installed caliper. Installed calipers using 12 mm bolts. Viola, the car now has excellent ceramic pads which hopefully will reduce brake dust.
It's a real easy job for the fronts. Are the rears that easy?

Heres the link, Jeff tells you how to "modify" in the #1 post right after discussing the front replacement.

FloridaJag,
Well done! What brand of pad spreader did you use? I may be doing something similar later this summer. I originally thought about a C-clamp but if a special tool is reasonably priced I may go that route. The way Jaguar designed the fronts is pretty slick in my opinion. One bolt to raise the calipers, plop the new pads in after spreading the calipers and you're basically done.
