Really embarrasted to ask this one.

I can get the front and rear reflectors off but do not know how to get the lightbulb out of their respective sockets. These are the lights at the very front and rear side of the vehicle... right adjacent to the bumpers.

Is LED a good replacement option for these lights?

 

Grab the bulb connector and not the wires and twist a 1/4 turn clockwise or counter clockwise (I can't remember).

There is a metal clip you have to take off before you can pull the bulb out of the socket. Just use a screwdriver and lift up on it, and it should pop right off.
