Front splash removal - should we drill seized fasterners?
Hi all,
The plastic undertray beneath radiator area has collapsed to one side - allowing a long thin piece of raditor (fins bonded to metal 1'' x 18" separate to main radiator) to slide out.
Has anyone ever spotted this?
Undertray is clipped to bottom of radiator via small metalic z-shaped clips - 2 of which have corroded, giving way to gravity.
It appears the splash shield is also sagging on that side also - bit of a design flaw here - all the fasteners at the front lip are seized and if I turn too much which break unseen plastic parts.
Is there are easier way to remove the splash-shield or should I get the drill out?
Thanks.

You need to remove the hex head of the stud, drill it or cut it,and then you can remove the clip from the bumper lip by bending them sraight.See pics.
When you replace them use anti-seize grease.

Thanks for images.
So if we grind-off heads (exposed) will the splash-shield simply fall away to floor...?
Or do I have to grind, then bend them straight to release shield from hidden location points?
Thanks again.
