I'm having a problem with my 2001 Jaguar S-Type 3.0 V6 (well, I've had tons of problems but fixed almost all of those) and the problem that I'm facing right now is with my fuel level sensor.
When I bought the car the fuel pump was bad, when I was replacing it, I think I pulled the wire off of the circuit board for the fuel pump sensor because now it won't register.
My question is, can I reattach it and if so, how? I've tried soldering it back on but the solder won't hold.
I'll give a bit of a background to my S-Type When I bought it, it had been sitting for almost 6 years on all flats, bad fuel pump, fuses in the wrong spots, snapped transmission drain plug, falling headliner, busted fog light, busted windshield, (from a police gas canister) and a few other small things. I've fixed all of that stuff myself (besides the windshield) and I still need to get my odometer to come on and the fuel gauge to work. Other than that, it's running just fine.
There are 2 fuel level senders. The INST PK calculates an AVERAGE between the two.
No idea which one that is, but if it was on the electric pump module (not the jet pump) then you are talking about the right hand side pump.
Might find a good used replacement in a salvage yard??

if it was soldered in the first place it should solder again , might have a wax coating ?
You could drill a small hole and put a brass nut and bolt/or rivet through it . If it has a wire strand you could crimp to it .
or just buy a second Hand unit .
