Hey Guys,
I have a 2006 S Type and have the garage door opener programed. For the first year or two, It opened the door from about a block away from my house. Very cool! Now it only works when the jag is at a 90 degree angle to the garage in front of the house or I have to pull into the driveway and right up to the door before it will open. The garage door opener is new and worked great for awhile. Is there a directional sensor to this unit on the car? Where is it located? Do I need to replace the whole unit? Kinda strange.

Check the receiver on your garage end, does it have a thin wire?

 

Yes it does have a thin wire. It worked fine for two years. Nothing has changed with the opener or the car that I am aware of. Only now it is having problems. I can get it to work driving down the street if I swerve left and then back right to put the side of the car towards the garage. Very strange. It works best when the side of the car is facing the garage, not the front. ??????
