Don't want to create a new thread so I'll just post here.
I have a similar problem with the 05 S-type. The tiny plastic pin broke and now there's nothing to hold the door in place. I tried to fashion something out of metal but it's difficult to access. Does anyone know a part code for that pin and what needs to be replaced?
Maybe some other makes/models used the same part and I could look for a used part?
Thanks for ideas.

I doubt if Jaguar will sell you just the plastic latch pin. In our particular car's cases, the entire assembly was replaced each time, all under the factory warranty. I now keep the mechanism lubricated with white lithium grease, and the third replacement seems to be the one that finally fixed it....

06 S Type R that appears to be missing the plunger.
I read that the Dealer sells a replacement plunger/guide kit, so I'll go that route. Pretty sure the plunger isn't seized in there since its just a black hole of need..
must have popped out on the previous owner who was too busy to just get it replaced.

I don't expect the pin to be a separate part but from the images it's hard to judge if that's the correct mechanism.

Yes it does, but it also includes the motor, the actuator, and various other bits and pieces that comprise the fuel filler door system. I doubt if you want to spend several hundred dollars just for that lousy latch pin. If the pin is all you need, there must be a better way to obtain (or fabricate) it....

I just removed the latch spring until I can get around to replacing the required part. Came out with my hands and it can be put back in once I buy the latch mechanism.
After you pull the spring the door will sit flush again and so far hasn't came open while driving at all.
Here's the spring. You can see the notches where it comes out and can be reinstalled.

This one drove me nuts. It has happened numerous times. But mine was hanging up closed and would not open, no matter how many times I tried the release. I used WD40, that didn't work very long. I used 3-1 oil. And that worked for a few months. But the problem persisted. Until one day, when I used Liquidwrench dry lube spray with TFE. That was 2 years ago. Bingo!!! that reminds me to spray it once more, before I have the problem again.
