Gear Brake Fault
Hi I'm new to the group so please bare with me! Today, when I put my car (2003 S-Type) in reverse, it jumped and made this noise. As I was driving it, I noticed an indicator came on "gear brake fault". WTH does this mean? and how much is this going to cost me. I have had this car for awhile and have kept up with the routine maintenance. I cannot afford to spend several thousands of dollars right now. I'm scared to death because when I went to google search I saw everything from transmission problems to replacement. Please help! THANK YOU

I'll bet a box of donuts that it actually said 'park brake fault' followed by 'gearbox fault'.
Number 1 cause is the battery is dying. How old is it?
