If Carchex (or other such insurers) service-insures your car, do they allow you to take the car to any service shop ? Do they set limits on how much they will pay for particular repairs ?
I cannot imagine they would recommend their insureds taking the car to the Dealership. The Dealership is the most wasteful place a vehicle could be taken, especially Jaguars.

jttay88, your money is hard earned I believe. You are at $11,000currently? Save another2-5 grand and you will be surprisedwhat level you will enter.S-typesprevious to 2003were a different car and not as great. I love my 2001 but I know a lady that has an '04 and it beats my car in every category. Bottomline, save some more money when buying your Jag. If you don't want to wait, then look into a car more practical for a 19 year old. Mazda RX-8 is a beautiful car.Mazda is owned by Ford. 11,000 is serious money. Think it through and don't make haste. Don't forget that this year is coming to an end. This means 2003 and up models willbe thousands less in the beginning of next year than they are right now.
Harounq has a good point there... they will be cheaper at the start of 09'. Before you buy a Jaguar make sure you consider the cost of maintenance and repairs. If you are on a tight budget you might want consider that they are not cheap to repair. They are however great cars to drive but every car sees the repair shop once in a while.
never had a car ( i drive my parents

Not bad. BUT! A c240 is the bottom of the barrel Benz. They have low resale value because they are so tight/small. I manage a gas station and our machanic in the garage told me the c class is not practical. Theyare the same size as a Honda Civic. The only difference is the name, grill, euro door handles, tailights, side view mirror signal lights, and a tempindicator. Surelyyou can stretch your money further if you wait until the beginning of next year. You think Mercedes got there rep from a c class? The e class, sel class, and s class made that company what it is.The bottomline is that car is no different than a civic. It is truly not a real Benz. The 3 series BMW might evven be bigger than a c240. Keep shopping my friend. And if your father has any interest in cars, ask for his opinion. My father really helped me through every car I bought so far. (Whether he paid or I paid) Father knows best.
i cant really decide wat i wan he decides cuz its his money and he told me i can only get a car 12-14 k and yea c class is the smallest class and he said das a good first car for me and i think a c class handles better then a civic
umm we didnt get it we were so close they try to skam us its not a big dealership its jus a small private dealship we tried to finance for 3 years it a 12000 dollar car and they got our interest rate at 29% which is all wrong because my dad has an average credit i wouldnt say decent but an ok credit and he got his finance his 07 chrysler 300c and got 11% and he wanna co sign the car for me and they got us at 29% .. i didnt know finance could be that much problem do you think leasing is easier to go?
thanks but after seeing da new jaguar xf i was like .... this car has the best interior i have ever seen and the exterior is just beautiful it looks more modern then the previous jags maybe ill get it 1 day
I dont want to sound like a d i c k but get something you can afford. Why put your self in the situation of not having a warranty, with money being an issue. You can get something much more reliable and affordable with less money. BTW you going to get raped on your interest rate. You are young, no credit and financing a car over 5 years old is just stupid......the bank gods will make you pay for this decision. Think it over buddy!!
Good luck with whatever you do.
