Take a code reader with you. Hopefully you can leave something of value behind that way you can test drive the car yourself, with nobody around. If so, pull over into a parking lot and check the codes. If all you see is a system pass code (PO1000) more than likely their maybe an issue hidden because whoever is selling the car has erased the codes that were present, so the car has to go thru another drive cycle to spot something (problem). Next, take a crisp dollar bill, while the car is idling...place the dollar bill with one hand up against the exhaust pipe opening. If the dollar bill FLAPS as it should, your good...but if it seems as if it's getting SUCKED IN then the car has issues...an you want to put on your track shoes and get to runnin...
Next, check your oil stick. If you pull the oil stick out an it looks like it has oil colors going from brown to black (stained) then kindly drive the car back to the seller and tell him you will check back later. Go get in your car and go as fast as you can away and don't even remember seeing that car again...it's what good mechanics call dodging a bullet!!
...just a few old school tips that work!!

I'm in Montreal... I would run from the car.. judging from the wheels, this car has been abused...and the price is showing that... I saw a 04 with 78K for $8K here - and it was in much better shape - it was driven by an old lady... My advise - skip it...
eh... I wouldn't say the wheels are an indication of neglect or abuse, just poor taste.
Buying a 10 year old jag is hit or miss, regardless of its past history.
To the OP, I suggest searching the forum for the common trouble spots on these cars to look for when buying,
