Angry Head Gasket Blew

Well my Jaguar ownership started off on the wrong foot! Only had it for a week!!!!! Took the car out for a drive, Phoenix to Jerome and on my way there the car overheated.....stopped....looks like the radiator cracked and the water leaked out.......after the tow truck dropped off the car I started it and got some nice white smoke coming out.......whooo hooo! So now time to do the headgasket....not affraid of doing it.......did it a couple of times on my Lotus V8 and Elise....only wish it was fall already

any pointers while doing the job.......anything to replace while I am at it......already found the headgasket set on ebay for 260, water pump for 40, chain guides for 100, timing tool kit for 300 and thermostat for 80!

Default More stuff

Found radiator for 70 and head bolt set 78 at rock auto plus the primary tensioners 75 for the set!

Anybody approached or done a head gasket on a 4.2?

I will post pictures once I get rolling!

I don't recall it before but Search - or better, Advanced Search - will show you.

But it will be in JTIS - free download.
