Default Headlight assembly replacment

I just traded my 95 vette for a 05 S-Type. My 1st Jaguar and it is great shape (61000 miles) and need to freshen up a few items. I have tried to sand and buff my headlight lens with no luck. They are to chipped and scuffed. I had to bite the bullet and buy new and am going to change them out myself. I heard the front bumper and grill have to come off but I haven't torn into mine yet until I know if there any tips or tricks out there. I would appreciate any help!

Thanks for that but I have already purchased mine at the tune of $800. Should have done more homework on that one. But that's why I'm here now.

Hey charles....probably better checking this out in the S type section I'd suggest, for better results.

Try this found in the S type FAQ thread, it may help
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ics-faq-28534/

Good luck

Good news-bad news, I followed the instructions on the link. All good stuff. Lights are in and the look great! I had the Illinois rust on the two outside lower pan screws. Drilled em out, new j-bolts, no problem. Now I have no passenger side headlight! Only had car week only drove for short while at night may or may not have worked before. Old light and new light, neither one work. Got brights. Everything else. ANY IDEAS? I Can give some more info on this if anyone wants it.

I was told two different things in this site that there is no fuse and that it is fuse 7A in passenger compartment. replaced 7A and that is not it.

Check your owners manual=- there is a fuse chart in it.

Hid fuses are in the engine compartment fuse box f-34 15a for the left and f-14 15a for the right dip hid beams. The controlling relays and r-10 for the left and r-13 for the right also in the same box. Past that both light are triggered negativly and may have blown that circuit in the frt electronics module if the new light you installed has a bad circuit with a cross short.
Especially if your old ones worked before you changed them, and the fuses and relays are good. to check relay operation just swap em.

I have the headlights working. Not the right way but working. I have no power to the connector from harness to light assembly. The car did not come with HIDS so this is a upgrade with no fuse or relay. I jumped from the factory space on fuse box for hids to get it working. Not right but it works. Thanks for all the input.

Only problem is now there is nothing else to work on! Jag's are a fun car and can't wait to expand to another one! Any recommendations?
