I've been searching the forum and I have a quick headlight question.

Is putting in 2007 OE xenon headlamp assembly a drop in procedure? Do I need to also source the auto leveling module? Is it possible to add the feature to my 2002?

 

YES IT DROPS IN, BUT THE HALOGENS AND HIDS ARE TRIGGERED DIFFERENTLY, FORGET HEADLIGHT LEVELING. YOU DONT NEED IT, PLUS YOU WOULD HAVE TO BUY MORE THAN THE LEVELING MODULE,,,,HEIGHT SENSORS, BODY HARNESS, ETC... YOU JUST HAVE TO PUT A RELAY IN TO TRIGGER THE HIDS. THEY USE A SWITCH GROUND TRIGGER TO TURN ON, HALOGENS TRIGGER POWER. ALL YOU DO IS SUPPLY THE HALOGEN POWER TRIGGER WIRE TO A RELAY THAT PROVIDES A GROUND TRIGGER TO THE HID LIGHTS. THE CONNECTORS PLUGS RIGHT IN. DO YOU ALREADY HAVE THE LIGHTS? CAUSE i HAVE SEVERAL HID STYPE HEADLIGHT SETS

 

No I do not Id love to get my hands on them. I've been checking eBay out for them. Do I need to splice in the ground trigger?

Maybe we can work something out and I can take a pair off your hands

 

Brutal, can I replace the self-leveling headlights with one of your xenon kits?

 

what I have are full functioning factory Hid Stype headlight assemblies. with self leveling since theyre Hid. They all have been fixed with my "screw fix" so they wont break at the adjuster ever again.

Are your Hid's the STR ones with the bit of tint to the glass, or the standard s-type ones with the clear glass? I have aftermarket hid's in my halogen headlights right now, and well, it works, but I'd much rather have the projectors.

???THAT WOULD BE A NEW 1 TO ME, i THOUGHT THE ONLY DIFFERANCE ARE THE CHROMED INNER REFLECTORS OR THE BLACKED OUT 1'S

 

Ohh... Is that what gives them the visual difference? I didn't realize it was reflector that was chrome v/s being blacked out that gave the STR the darker looking headlights.

I never noticed my STR headlights appearing darker than a regular STypes w/ HIDs or blacked out inner reflectors. Im going to have to take a closer look and compare.
