We have a 2005 S-Type 3.0.

We have a feature on it that heats the windshield withfine wires that are embedded in the windshield. Many (all?) of the cars I've looked at have this in the rear window but none of them have it in the windshield. Was this a feature that is just rare or is it no longer available?

It is invisible under normal circumstances but when the windshield is frosted over, it's a lifesaver. It clears the glass in about a minute.

It started in the mid 90's and you will probably start to see them as more common.

 

I have this in my 03 STR; it's really handy and clears any fog on the inside of the screen very quickly.

 

Im glad someone brought this up as i always forget to ask my dealer!

My car has the coils in the windscreen yet does not have a button for it on the control panel like in the manual, it has been replaced once since i owned my car but i dont think the previous one had the button either.

Ive driven several s types without navigation....some have the button on the climate panel yet no coils in the windscreen while others have the coils yet no button for them

please tell me what gives?!?!?!?!

 

its a cold wheather option.. in canada mostly all jags have them
