Yes I'm wanting to buy a 2001 jag s-type from a guy he is telling me all it needs is a temp sensor cause it won't go into overdrive if I don't replace it.. And it is leaking water .I was wondering if that's true or is it a transmission problem and is it worth buying and I'm pretty sure it's a v8 motor

It could well be a lie. Can you DIY to find out? If not, it will likey be money pit.

That is like saying that because you broke your glasses, your shoes won't fit. Did you buy this car?

Regular standard 5 speed automatic I think it is a FOMOCO 5R55N. Nothing special about that.
