For some reason, there is a faint gasoline smell in my 2001 S-Type. It seems to be coming thru the air vents. It is worse when I first start it. Then it gets a little better. It is not so strong that it is breathtaking, but it is enough to make my eyes water. What could this be? I am in a itty-bitty country town and I have no Jag Dealer even close.

 

MARCUS is right. My friend had a ford mustang and the same thing happened. Loose hose that could start a fire. Not to scare you though. It might just be something minor. I would not want something to happen to your pretty face .

 

I have the same problem w/ my Jeep but it's the "O" rings on my fuel rail @ the injectors. Not even a trace of gas smell when it's warm outside but once the temp drops below 40F I start to get a faint hit of gas through my vents. I guess i'll throw my 3rd set of O-rings in it this fall.

 

You'r problem is same as mine 4 months ago! You have problem with fuel rail leak over the injectors or at the begining of fuel rail! There the fuel is leaking! If you wish me to send you the spot of the problem just PM me your e mail and I will send you the picture of the part you need to change!!! I changed fuel rail and some 2 other things and now things are back to normal!!!
