Hesitating when accelerating
Recently my 99 V8 has started to slightly 'hesitate' under acceleration. The car is smooth enough most of the time, it is like having water in the fuel...though that is not the cause
So many things can lead to this. So prob that why not many responce so far.
I'll say check the easry stuff first... OBDII codes, air filter, MAF, fuel filter, plugs, coils, vacum leek, TPS, all wire conections, ect.
Then post back...

Scot,
Is it only from a dead stop? or any kind of acceleration?
I've driven both of our S-Types to work and back lately (not a normal occurrence) and I do get my share of stop-lights, particularly on the way home in the afternoon. Both idle/run well and don't sport any codes....but dangit! They're boderline defective in comparison to the X300. Both would sit there after a light changed to green, and diddle around doing nothing for a second or two or fraction thereof....just enough to be irritating...crud! Even my Merc's nose would at least rear up a bit...even though it didn't much go anywhere, acceleration-wise. My suspicion is that it was the meddlesome traction control. It wasn't evident at every dead-stop, only some, but enough to be noticeable. Tried turning trac-cntrl off but that idea occurred to me a little bit late to get a good test in....seemed to help, but as I said, it didn't do it every stop, normally, so hard to say.

I finally got the car a diagnostic check and the problem turned out to be a burned out coil pack & 1 or possibly 2 faulty spark plugs
Hopefully I will get it repaired next week !.

Mine always did it... found that leaving it in "sport mode" while driving around town helped a lot. Try that. Turning off DSC should not impact it.
Honestly.... one of the things I really like about the 300C's drive train is the better response off the line... It still has some of the normal drive by wire lag, but not as bad as the Jaguar's system. The Mercedes adaptives are more intrusive though.. but at least they give you a separate fuse for the adaptives, so I just keep clearing them every so often.
