mine definitely limits the revs in P to 3-4k

Hi Phil, yeah sometimes it is normal to pick up codes without having your dash light up. I have seen it happen to me when I went to the mechanic and he hooked it up to his jaguar software scanner unit. It picked up some codes; can't remember which ones but I never knew b/c it never alerted me on the dash. Hope it's a simple fix for you, good luck bro.
