Hey guys, I could really use your help. I just got me a 03 v8 s type and car runs great, but I have a high pitch sound that comes and it goes, but when I tap on the break it goes away. I notice my car has green coolent and not orange as I thought this cars required. I just bought my car so i dont know what has been done to the car. Car is running great just the little pitch noise. Even if I turn of the car is there until it dies out or I tap the breaks. Please help

 

Neonism. Do not worry! it sounds like the brakes, maybe they are getting low or there is a build up of brake dust, the calipers could be sticking a bit, possibly the sliders or bushing are wearing or in need of lubrication. Easy fix good luck, Paul

 

Full visual examination of the brakes needed here. Probably then the noise will be obvious. I speak as an inveterate chaser of squeaks, rattles and groans in cars. Sometimes brakes have anti-squeal shims in back of the pads, all too often left out by semi-competent mechanics. Look out for missing clips too. I hope you find that irritating noise soon.
