Default Is the homelink overhead console Plug and Play?

Hey guys,

My S-Type doesn't have homelink. My X-Type that lives outside does. My garage door opener's range sucks. The X-Type is great.
So.. I found an overhead console the right color that does. Is it a plug and play swap, or would there be additional wiring involved?

Thanks in advance,

George

Yup... I did that as well. At first I tried to take apart a doner console, but they are next to impossible to get apart. No screws, everything is "heat pressed" together where they melt plastic pins to "rivit" it together. So, I just picked up another with homelink. Pulled the original, plugged in the new one... Done...Now I have homelink.

Thanks Jeff!!

I'm going to grab it now. Honestly that was the one feature that my other cars had that my S-Type didn't and I actually missed.

I'm gonna grab the console now.

Thanks again,

George

While I was at it, I picked up a motorola T605 Bluetooth kit on ebay for the grand sum of $32 bucks delivered.

I figured if I had to drop the overhead console, now would be a good time to run the microphone.

That will give me bluetooth calling, and stereo music from my phone via bluetooth into my pioneer head unit.

I have one of those parrot visor mounted speaker phone jobs, but I've never really been happy with it.

Install details to follow

Thanks again,

George
