Well, it's now 1+ hour each way to visit the nearest Jaguar dealership in Columbia, SC - but fortunately the S-Type has required only a bit of warranty attention (the typical droopy headlamp, and a brand-new rear end to replace the whiner) in 30K+ miles, and those guys do good work. I'm holding off on complaining about the famous ZF Clunk - still have 12 months to go on the original warranty.

 

A little over an hour away is not bad. I drive to the Greensboro dealership (about 70 miles away) when I need dealership-only parts pronto because they are half the price of our local dealership (about 25 miles away). I haven't had to do that in nearly a year now. Shouldn't have mentioned that - now I'm jinxed and will probably be needing dealer parts soon....

Be sure to ride your warranty like a racehorse while you can. Get your car perfect just before the warranty runs out so you'll have minimum exposure to your wallet before you take over the maintenance yourself. That's what I do with all of the pre-owned vehicles that I purchase, and it has always paid off big-time....
